NSEF Scholarships

2025 Scholarships are now closed.
2026 Scholarships will be open in October 2025.

Our scholarships are fully funded by private donors like you. Each year, the scholarship amount varies based on donations received during the previous fiscal year.
 

The Scholarship Decision Team consists of two independent scholarship board members who assess financial need and other criteria to determine the total scholarship allocation for the year. These scholarship board members are separate from our executive board to ensure a fair and unbiased selection process.
 

Scholarship awards are distributed as follows:

  • Higher Education Scholarships are awarded during the NSEF Annual Holiday Gala in December.

  • New Song Families in Need Scholarships are distributed by the end of January.

Higher Education Merit Scholarships

Scholarship Purpose
The NSEF Scholarship aims to recognize and support high school seniors who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and leadership. The scholarship is designed for students aspiring to attend a four-year university in the United States and who have a proven record of leadership within their schools or extracurricular activities.

 

Award
Two outstanding students will each receive a $1,500 scholarship to assist with college expenses.

 

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be current high school seniors

  • Hold a minimum GPA of 3.7

  • Serve in a leadership role in school or extracurricular activities

  • Submit a letter of recommendation

  • Provide a personal statement (300 words max) outlining their intended college field of study and how education supports leadership

  • Include a brief statement (100 words max) explaining financial need and how this scholarship will benefit them
     

Priority Will be Considered for applicants 

  • Who is first in their family to attend college

  • Student with Financial Need 

  • Students from low to moderate income familes (verification will be required) 
     

Additional Requirement
Selected recipients must attend the NSEF Gala in Redmond, WA, on December 7, 2024, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm to receive their award

 

Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted by December 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

NSEF Families in Need Scholarship Application

Scholarship Overview

Eligibility: Scholarships are available only for the 2025 calendar year and will be awarded directly to licensed childcare facilities or after-school programs serving children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Award Amount: $1,200 up to $3,000 per year.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by December 1st, 2024. 

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
This scholarship prioritizes:

  • Single-parent households

  • Low- to moderate-income families where parents are either:Employed full-time, or Enrolled as full-time student
     

Please Note: Families eligible for Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) assistance are not eligible for this scholarship, as this program is designed to help families who do not qualify for government subsidies.
